Simmental Bulls for Sale
It gives us great pleasure to offer five Simmental Bulls for Sale in September 2020. The production of this limited offering of bulls has been the most challenging for us to date with drought, four lots of bushfires, a flood, the most savage tick-load we have experienced and then there was COVID-19. These tough conditions have meant that these bulls on offer have had a very even preparation and this shows in their weight, scans and feet.
These bulls have been lightly prepared and this reflects in their weights at age. Our experience in retailing beef and the previous sale price of our bulls leads us to believe that the progeny of these bulls will perform in the top percentile for all breeds in commercial sales and this includes in a feedlot.
Following the extensive drought this year’s industry stud preparation of bulls has been above usual standards (grain is cheaper than hay nutritionally) and for Simmental this is evidenced by numerous data sheets showing scans for P8, Rib and IMF at 20% above breed average. This is supported by visual inspections of animals showing a condition score of 5 supporting this finding.
For the Simmental breed, spring 2020 sale averages have increased from $6125 (2019) to $10,100 for 2020. For the same period sale prices for all breeds of bulls have increased but not by the same percentage as experienced for Simmental.
At the same time these Lone Station Simmental bulls have been prepared in order to reflect the commercial realities of beef production and the profitability of beef producers allowing for seasonal and geographical conditions. At the end of the day Lone Station is guided by the buyer and their feedback informs our breeding program and pricing for the future. True to Label means that Lonestation reflects the genuine article.
Initially available on property from Biarra in the Brisbane Valley the bulls will be moved two weeks later to Moura for the visual inspection of previous and prospective Lone Station Simmental Bull buyers. Contact Steven Manwill 0416 229 171.

“There’s weight and dollars in a long carcase and this bull is long. Reference images and video show Pilot (P) has not been over prepared but still reached over 900kg at approx. 24 months. Three consecutive generations of females crossed with three different sires have shown the strength of genetics in this bull.”

“Patton has a carcase and weight that pays both domestically and overseas. A lot of the white colour is missing from the traditional Simmental on this bull which is difficult to achieve on the genuine article (i.e. not as a result of black or red programs). This could result in an additional premium at sale for progeny of this bull.”
